My sister Mary and I, in step. We were just coming from the Elaine Beauty Shop where I worked, at Granville & Hastings. We had just had our hair done.
Work then overlooked the old post office (now the Sinclair Building). Down there, movie stars used to come and perform to sell war bonds, during the war. Customers used to book hair appointments to watch stars perform. I remember one particular performance was Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris & his Band, and Rochester (from the Jack Benny Show).
