This is my late father, William Leslie(Jerry) Vernon-Martin and his stepfather, Edward Mann Martin. I’m not sure if this is late 1930s or very early post-WW II.

Ed Martin had served overseas in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in WW I. He was a waiter and later headwaiter at the Hotel Vancouver, and worked on the CN Alaska cruise ships in the Summers. During the Royal Visit in 1939, he served the King and Queen, and I have a couple of souvenir spoons from that occasion. He later retired to become a small farmer in Aldergrove prior to his death in the late 1940s.
