Four of us en route to the Commodore for the U.B.C. Mardi Gras ball.John Meyer, Rosemary MacLeod, Hilary Yates, Barrie Taylor. We always dressed to go downtown. I sewed my own clothes, most of us did, because we couldn’t afford to buy clothes. I’d sew a dress like this and then make different shawls and over skirts to change the look for another occasion. We always had so much fun going out.

This is a great picture. I am always impressed by the number of young women who sewed their own clothes in those days and even made coats. I never had that talent.
