Mouse-Over Images to Zoom

Four of us en route to the Commodore for the U.B.C. Mardi Gras ball.John Meyer, Rosemary MacLeod, Hilary Yates, Barrie Taylor. We always dressed to go downtown. I sewed my own clothes, most of us did, because we couldn’t afford to buy clothes. I’d sew a dress like this and then make different shawls and over skirts to change the look for another occasion. We always had so much fun going out.

This is a great picture. I am always impressed by the number of young women who sewed their own clothes in those days and even made coats. I never had that talent.
