I had arrived from Australia the previous year, 1955, and had planned on working for about a year then crossing Canada and going on to Europe. However, I met a Canadian man who was a confirmed bachelor, but he had never met a woman like me who could whistle Bach, liked foreign films and classical music. Australian men, at that time, would have thought such things sissy!
We have now been married for 55 years!
