This is my mother Maria da Conceicao (age 22) at the PNE with her little sister in 1968. My mother came to Canada in 1964 at the age of 18 after my grandfather (who had been here 7 years already) sent for my grandmother and his 5 children from Portugal. My mother was the eldest of the 5. Her little sister in the picture (age 2) was 1 of 2 children born to my grandparents in Canada. People always assumed her little sister was her daughter due to their age difference.
