My husband was a Lancaster pilot in the 2nd World War. He arrived in New York on the Ile de France (returning from duty in England) on the 1st of May, 1945. We were married in Edmonton on the 12th of May, 1945, and spent part of our honeymoon in Vancouver, where this picture was taken.
We were just leaving the hotel, – I had written to my mother and carried the letter with me, to post on our way to breakfast.
It was a charmed time in our 67 years together. My husband died last November
