This was one of our earliest dates together. We went to see Moira Shearer in ‘Red Shoes’, and had a grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant on Granville Street which was got up to look like an airplane. It had some name that tied into the theme–‘Airways’ or ‘Flight Path’ or something like that. George didn’t have a lot of money, but he always saved up to take me out somewhere special. We were married five years later.
