He was a sailor and visited me often when I was a student nurse in St. Paul’s. Tom got into trouble when he was with me instead of on his ship, and told the captain he was with his “wife” in Vancouver. To avoid going to Edmonton (sailors jail) we got married secretly on Nov. 7, 1958, 10 months before my training was complete.
