My grandparents, Cliff and Ollie Nellis. They moved from Winnipeg to Vancouver in 1946, so this photo was taken not long after their arrival in the new city. Ollie’s father, Bill, owned the Clifton Hotel at 1125 Granville, so I imagine they spent a lot of time in the vicinity of Robson and Graville, where Foncie apparently shot many of his photos.
