My grandfather, the dashing Cliff Nellis. He and my grandmother, Ollie, moved from Winnipeg to Vancouver in 1946, so this photo must have been taken not long after their arrival. Ollie’s father, Bill, owned the Clifton Hotel at 1125 Granville Street, so I imagine Cliff was often in the neighborhood where Foncie shot his photos.
