When I was young, I got a job sewing pearl buttons on outfits (called the “pearlies”). This is me with my sister, Mary Eby. Mary had come down from Prince George to spend the summer in Vancouver.

They had beautiful windows at Spencers. One year they even had doves. I remember the window dressers at Spencers and Woodwards were always competing. In my view Spencers windows were the best (Richard and Hastings).
