My mother, Nell Grant, and my daughter Barbara (who would have been 14 years old here). They’ve gone downtown shopping. Mom was always treating her to something–they were very close.
Mom never remarried. After working in the Yukon, she came back to live in Vancouver in 1956 and continued to work as a cook in restaurants, the Aristocrat chain. They served everything there. I can remember her making me banana fritters.
She never remarried, kept on working into her 70s
