Photo of George Hartland on Granville Street, February 1946, on his way to see his sister, Gertie who worked at the Bay. He was just discharged from the Army after serving with R.C.A.S.C in England and Europe. He was in Holland (Nijmegan and Arnhem) for two years and participated in the liberation of Holland. He and his company R.C.A.S.C. arrived on Normandy Beach on “D” Day Plus one. He remained in Arnhem until the war ended. After the photo he returned to Edgewood, B.C..
