Foncie took this picture in August 1957. The white on white doesn’t show that my little girl Wanda has just had her broken arm reset and it’s in a cast and a sling.
She and her two younger brothers were playing in the woods next door to our home in North Vancouver when a leaning tree they were climbing up came down and she was hurt. They came to the door, boys with eyes as big as saucers, and Wanda with a bone sticking through the skin ate her elbow. She said ” I think it’s broke”. She was very brave about it and when a second doctor, a specialist, had to re-break and reset it I was especially proud of her.
