My parents George & Daphne Holmes. The photo was taken possibly May 1943 a day or so after my mother, a war bride arrived from Ditchling, Sussex England. My father seen walking with a cane was recovering from a shrapnel wound to his leg received in the battle for Ortona while serving for the Seaforth Highlander in Italy.
