Archie Gillette met Pearl Tuff at his family’s downtown parking lot. She worked for B.C. Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator and often parked nearby Seymour St. When she and Archie met, courted and married, it was true love filled with romance. It was Archie’s first marriage. Pearl’s 2nd as her first husband was alcoholic and abandoned the home. Archie was a successful Lebanese immigrant to Canada. They retired to live in Parksville.
