This is a photo of my Mom and Dad when they were dating, before they were married. Mom had just moved to Canada from South Africa, and my Dad was intrigued by her. He was a practicing Chartered Accountant here in Vancouver, but Mom thought he was a “rough and ready” Canadian, and wasn’t sure about him. On their honeymoon they went hiking along the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. They liked it there, so they raised their family on the Island.
