John Agg married Helen Agg (nee Stephenson) in Toronto, Ontario on December 28, 1953. They immediately travelled by train across the country to Vancouver, where they lived on Davie Street. This photo (and the 2 others of both Helen and John) would have been taken early in 1954.
John was an artist, and Helen a potter, and they eventually settled on Vancouver Island, making a living from their art and crafts for 30 years.
