There were about 8 of us that came out from Coaldale, Alberta. The first ones joined the seafarers union and they’d got a ship within a few weeks, the Princess Patricia, that runs all around the lower mainland and the west coast. So I did the same, but got the Princess Nora. In town we lived in small rooms, so we got out whenever we could.
