Here’s a picture Foncie took of my mother, Stella, on the left and her older sister, Helen on Granville St. around 1948. Mom and her sisters would come down from Courtney on a Friday night to Nanaimo and take the old CPR boat over to the big city for a weekend. They would stay in the Castle Hotel and take advantage of all the city had to offer for 2 short days.
