This is my mother, Gertrude Arnold, and me—another happy shopping day with my mom. My husband at the time was an assayer and we lived in Britannia Beach so I’d come down to go shopping with her. We were close, and she liked shopping. Looks like we’re just outside the Bay on Seymour Street.
I loved that muskrat coat I’m wearing (I did get a mink eventually). Everybody dressed up to go downtown. Nobody ran around in jeans-type clothes–always suits and coats and hats.
