Louise Burrows and her mother-in-law Isabella Burrows (Wilson Johnson) who came out to Vancouver from England during the war. Isabella Burrows lived in a house near English Bay. Isabella returned to England later in the 1940’s.

      My grandmother was not escaping the war but came to visit her youngest son, my father. She was a stalwart, strong individual who supported her family through the depression. She helped my father, who refused to go on the dole, to come to Canada. While visiting she lived in a rooming house in English Bay.
