This is my late husband, Wesley A. Carter “Nick”.  He’s the one carrying the valise. The photo was taken between 1942 when Nick joined the Merchant Navy in Vancouver at the age of 15, and 1947 when he left the Merchant Navy for good and returned to Alberta. Nick’s shore time after months at sea was spent in Vancouver enjoying life with pretty girls, dancing, and partying. We had been married 53 years when he passed away in 2003.
