My dad Holger Hansen on the east side of 700 block Granville St. (just passing Castle Hotel (you can see the “Men’s Entrance” sign), Stacy’s Shoes, Fish & Oyster Bar, Duchess Beauty Salon, Camille Hat Shop, and Gerry’s Gowns (all buildings since replaced)). He moved to Canada from Denmark in ’51 (via Brantford and Oshawa), worked at Hayes Lawrence Manufacturing in Vancouver, and attended the Vancouver School of Art from approximately ’54 – ’58. He then pursued a graphic design career in Toronto.
