My dad Holger Hansen (right) on the east side of 800 block Granville St. The sign says “Mallek’s Women’s Apparel” (corner of Robson) so they are just passing the White Lunch Cafeteria (both buildings still stand in altered form). He moved to Canada from Denmark in ’51 (via Brantford and Oshawa), worked at Hayes Lawrence Manufacturing in Vancouver, and attended the Vancouver School of Art from approximately ’54 – ’58. He then pursued a graphic design career in Toronto.
