Patience and Destiny on a first date.

Anne (ne Sarich) Delbrouck and her husband to be Lucien Delbrouck on their first date. Anne was teaching in Coquitlam and had arranged to meet Lucien under the Birk’s clock at 5pm. She arrived at 6:30 while he waited patiently in the pouring rain. The patience he was to need throughout his married life was tested that night. Here they are going to catch a bus to Anne’s house. A quick change into a party dress and they were off dancing at the Arctic Club where Louis Armstrong was playing.
