Paul & Betty Oglow [née Dann] married in 1948 in Trail, BC and honeymooned
in Vancouver. Their young love was captured by Foncie in this photo. They
settled in Castlegar, BC and proudly worked in generational family
businesses and were lifelong community volunteers. They blended unique
Doukhobor and British backgrounds creating a loving, diverse and welcoming
home for their five children, 13 grandchildren, friends and international
students. Paul & Betty were married almost 63 years.

WOW!! What a fabulous shot! It’s like I’m looking at Ken and Carol. I use parts of the Castlegar subdivision number in passwords (shhh) and think of those wonderful years every time I log in (which is o-f-t-e-n). Blintze every Sunday, the Sandy Trail, chocolate cake in Grade five. Betty’s cackle and the twinkle in Paul’s eyes. Those two were our other parents through such special years. And the expression on their faces here…a foreshadowing of all the wonderful times to come. They rest in peace in all of our hearts.
