I came to Vancouver by train from Fort William (now Thunder Bay) with a friend, in January 1945. We briefly lived in a small apartment on Barclay Street, in the West End. I later married and had a son, Syd. In this picture Syd is 9 years old an we are out on the town for his favourite meal of fish and chips and lemon pie.
