Kjeld and I went downtown to check it out. Having arrived from Denmark the year before we wanted to explore Vancouver’s Downtown. A movie was 35 cents; the bus fare had gone up to 13 cents from a dime. We could take in a movie, a White Lunch counter special and the return trip by bus for less than $2.00
Kjeld’s family returned to Denmark less than a year later.We never saw each other again.
