My grandmother, Maysie, was born in Scotland in 1898. She moved to Canada in 1912 and lived in Winnipeg to care for her sister’s children. She met and married my grandfather and together they moved their family of two to Vancouver in 1936. They lived in the Dunbar neighbourhood for 20 years but she always enjoyed the big city for shopping.
