July 1947 I was 5, my sister 9, along with my mother, my father (in back) & my grandmother holding firmly to my hand! I seem to recall that I had been walking in behind with my father but that I had been stepping on my sisters heels & annoying her to distraction. I was subsequently relegated to the care & control of my Grandma. We were on vacation from Emerson MB & staying in a rooming house near Stanley Park. We had come by train & so began my abiding love affair with the west coast & trains!
