That’s my oldest sister Sally on the left, my brother Don, and my mother, Peg Murray carrying my other sister Judi. I was born in 1949 and my younger brother was born in 1953. This picture has always been very poignant to me, even though I’m not in it. To me it shows that our family could afford to dress nicely and obviously there was money enough for a shopping spree. My father died when I was 5 leaving my mother to raise five kids on a secretary’s salary. Needless to say it was a struggle. At the time of my father’s death he was the Manager of the Municipal Transportation System for West Vancouver (the Blue Buses). I often wonder what our lives would have been like, had he lived.
